EGD Services: Environmental Policy
Our Statement: EGD Services is committed to minimising the impact its activities have on both the local and global environment, by taking all possible steps to prevent pollution, to avoid damage to habitats, and reduce its carbon footprint in the community.
Our Commitment: is to educate our work force in all relevant legal requirements, Environmental Legislation Standards, and codes of best practice in the forestry and arboriculture industry.
We take all steps to minimise risk to employees our customer and members of the general public, also our native wild life. Nesting birds and their eggs are protected by law as are many other species such as badgers, bats etc, We work within the guidelines set out in the wildlife and countryside Act 1981, and the Countryside and Rights of way Act 2000.
We inspect each individual job prior to starting for the presence of nesting birds, bats badgers etc, We inform our clients of this inspection and the reasons why we make these checks.
We recycle all green and wood waste produced by our working activities, This waste is in the form of wood chip that is open stored and used once decayed as soil conditioner, or as chip mulch in the landscaping industry.
Our timber produced through our activities is used as fuel wood, or we have and can mill the wood for the customer for them to put to other uses, fencing building, etc.
None of our waste produced by us goes into landfill sites; all is recycled in some form.
Our Promise to the environment: to continue to monitor the impact we are having on the environment make changes and improve as required to meet all legislation and laws as introduced.
